MPL-R20B

High Load-Bearing Rigid Structural Foam

This rigid polyurethane foam system is one of a family of polymer systems developed by Northstar Polymers for specific applications. Urethane foams molded with this system exhibit closed cell structure, and its high-density foam structure provides a very good lord bearing capability. The both components are low viscosity liquid and together with its easy mixing ratio of 1: 1 by volume, this material is ideal as a bonding agent structural composite. A user can mix and pour the mixture with common tools without an expensive casting/spray machine. This foam can also be mix/cast by a meter mixing machine. This foam do not use a volatile auxiliary blowing-agent and can be operated in a ambient workplace without being flame/spark-free environment. This combination of features makes MPL-R20B ideal for molded/cast structural parts, cat-in-place structural foam material, structural composites, and many other custom applications.

  Part-A Part-B
Volume Ratio 1.000 1.000
Weight Ratio 1.000 0.870

Processing Temperature:

          Part-A              Ambient
          Part-B              Ambient
          Mold/Substrate  Ambient (Best to be 100 - 110 ºF (38 -44 ºC))

*
The ideal temperature for the mold and substrate is 100 - 110 ºF. However, if you are casting on substrate that are less heat-absorbing, such as plastic, sheet rock, or wood, molding surface can be at the ambient temperature. For all metal molds, the temperature should be between 100 to 110 ºF.

Cure Pattern:

Mixing Time 30 Seconds
Pot Life (pour within) 1 Minute
Demolding time 50 - 60 minutes
Complete Cure Cycle 24 hours at room temperature

* The cure pattern can be modified by catalyst level. Please consult Northstar Polymers for change of curing pattern.
* The system cures at room temperature. However, higher temperatures (up to 120 ºF) will yield faster cure time.
* When molding a foam part, do not use silicone based mold release as it could destroy the foam surface.
