MPN-R03A

Rigid Closed-Cell Foam (Cast-In-Place Rigid Foam)

3-pounds-per-cubic-foot density

This rigid polyurethane foam system is one of a family of polymer systems developed by Northstar Polymers for specific applications.  Urethane foams molded with this system exhibit good insulation properties and light density.  Easy-to-use 2 to 1 ratio allows a user to mix the components with common tools without an expensive casting/spray machine.  Its light density without use of volatile auxiliary blowing agents makes this one of the most economical and safer ways to insulate a variety of parts and structures.  This combination of features makes MPN-R03A ideal for cat-in-place insulation foam material.

*For foams with stronger mechanical properties, we recommend higher density rigid foams or semi-rigid foams.  A variety of foam densities is available with our custom formulations between 3 to 20 pound per cubic foot.

The ideal temperature for the mold and substrate is 100 - 110 ºF. However, if you are casting on substrate that are less heat-absorbing, such as plastic, sheet rock, or wood, molding surface can be at the ambient temperature. For all metal molds, the temperature should be between 100 to 110 ºF.

Cure Pattern:

Mixing Time 30 Seconds
Pot Life (pour within) 1 Minute
Demolding time 40 minutes
Complete Cure Cycle 24 hours at room temperature
