Semi-Rigid Foams
Semi-Rigid class foams can be use in applications that require load bearing property as well as some impact resistance property. Comparing to rigid foam, semi-rigid foam has some flexibility so it does not chip or crack as easily, yet it still has some load bearing property that resists compression forces. These properties can be utilized in various molded/filled parts such as sporting goods, floats, bumpers, packaging, and many other custom applications. Some structural foam materials can be categorized in this class.
2.5 pounds per cubic foot density semi-rigid foam (MPP-R02C)
5.5 pounds per cubic foot density semi-rigid foam (MAP-R06A)
Northstar Polymer has developed the following formulation specially for the applications that require a longer pot life.
9.0 pounds per cubic foot density semi-rigid foam (MPS-M09A)
The density, pot-life, and other properties can be controlled by modifications for the above standard formulations. Please contact Northstar Polymers to discuss, if you are looking for a more specific formulation to fit your application.
